Young carers are set to get creative at a free workshop at Wolverhampton Art Gallery where they will be able to make and keep a football-inspired T-shirt.

It is one of a number of football-themed family activities taking place during half-term to celebrate the launch of the gallery's main summer exhibition, FOOTBALL: Designing the Beautiful Game, in collaboration with the FIFA Museum and the National Football Museum.

Young carers will be able to work with artist Robert Conway and use a combination of fabric pens, paints, and screen print to create their T-shirt.

It is one of a number of social activities being provided by Wolverhampton's Carer Support Team for young carers in the city. For more details, please call 01902 553409 or visit www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/carers.

A young carer is someone under the age of 18 who helps to care for someone within their family. This may be due to physical disability, mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse, sensory impairments or any long-term illness or condition.

Young carers often take on adult responsibilities within the home which can affect friendships, relationships, learning and development, health, and wellbeing and future career choices.
