Friends host Music Service fundraiser for Italy tour
A charity fundraising event is being held next month to help send music students off on a tour to Italy this summer.
The Friends of the Wolverhampton Music Service are organising a Musical Evening on Saturday 18 May, featuring an exciting programme of entertainment provided by a mix of students and staff.
Funds raised will support the City of Wolverhampton Council-run Music Service's upcoming tour to Italy, which will see students from Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra and Wolverhampton Youth Wind Orchestra perform at a range of venues in Tuscany during the summer holidays.
The fundraising Musical Evening will take place on from 6.30-9.30pm at the Music School, Graiseley Hill. Tickets are priced at £25 each and include a buffet and complimentary welcome drink. A range of soft drinks, wine and beer will also be available to purchase on the night. To book, please visit https://bit.ly/WtonMusic.
Ciaran O'Donnell, head of the Music Service, said: "Music is a really important part of a young person's education, and Wolverhampton Music Service provides quality tuition and musical opportunities for children and young people from schools across the city.
“Every year, thanks in no small part to the fundraising efforts of our Friends, our two premier orchestras are able to take part in a foreign tour at the start of the summer break, and I am delighted that our young people will have the chance to represent Wolverhampton with distinction in Italy this summer."
